Course Purpose

The course provides participants with an advanced ability to analyse, plan and implement complex or technical investigations into breaches of mandatory legislation or regulation.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Successful completion of this course will result in the following learning outcomes;

• Accredited & Nationally recognised advanced investigation qualification.
• An advanced level of investigation skills and knowledge based on current best practices as used by law enforcement bodies.
• Develop & coordinate investigation plans within statutory, regulatory or organisational guidelines.
• Understand the ethical, procedural and statutory basis for investigations.
• Manage investigation information processes.
• Review and evaluate major investigations and recommend necessary change to organisation policy & procedures where identified.

Course Structure

The course will be offered as a continuous 2 week course with workplace assessments and also in the format of the ICETS I-Program (combined face to face and on-line learning program).

Course Recognition

The Diploma of Government (Investigation) is a nationally recognised qualification of advanced investigations skills required by those responsible for the coordination and conduct of investigations.

Successful course participants will be issued with a Diploma of Government (Investigation) or a Statement of Attainment for units achieved, where the student does not complete the full course.)
